7 Unique Places To Get Your North Hills, Raleigh Shopping Fix

Feel that in the air? Fall is upon us – and it feels great. We’re already embracing everything the season brings us, which may or may not include baking multiple loaves of pumpkin bread.

The one thing that’s not totally ready? Our wardrobe. We’ve been pinning fall looks, and getting a glimpse of autumn fashion magazine spreads, and we’re feeling totally inspired. We put together a list of our must-stops for fall fashion. Check them out below!

1. Sur La Table

Thought we were going to stick just to fashion, didn’t you? But with all of the amazing flavors of fall (pumpkin, yes – but roasted root veggies! Apple cider!), it would be a crime not to stock up on some kitchen accessories to go along with your autumn cooking.

Sur La Table is, by far, our favorite stop for kitchen accessories. The quality of their cooking equipment is top-of-the-line, and the staff is crazy knowledgeable to boot. So whether you’re baking a pie, or searching for the best roasting pan, they’ve got you covered. Just don’t forget to invite us over to taste!

2. Apricot Lane Boutique

We love frequenting local boutiques for the change in a season – it almost always ensures that we’ll end up with a wardrobe filled with unique pieces that stop strangers in their tracks. Apricot Lane is one of our go-to stores for that exact reason.

Walking into the store is like stepping into the page of your favorite fashion magazine – the looks are wholly on trend. But the labels, and designers, are completely surprising! There’s always something to discover at Apricot Lane : one-of-a-kind items abound.

So be sure to make a stop in, and add to your fall fashion. You won’t be sorry.

3. J. McLaughlin

The preppy aesthetic gets us every time – and if you, too, swoon for that kind of fashion, then J. McLaughlin has to be among your stops this fall.

Bonus? It boasts premiere fashion for both men and women, so you can get richly hued pants and crisp button-downs for both members of your family. On our wishlist this fall? Houndstooth trousers, smart black turtlenecks, and cozy sweater dresses perfect for an autumn afternoon.

4. Plow & Hearth

Don’t limit your fall fashion to your wardrobe – your house deserves some new threads, too! We plan on stopping by Plow & Hearth for all of our household needs this season. While the actual merchandise is crazy cute (painted pumpkin globes, anyone?), we’re also continually impressed with the store’s commitment to sustainability.

All of Plow & Hearth’s products are eco-friendly, and have practical, sustainable uses. Buyers source responsibly, and when you’re in-store, the associates are happy to direct you to goods that will help you lead a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle. 5. Lululemon athletica

Autumn is a prime season for outdoor workouts. And trust us, after a summer of running on a treadmill, we’re itching to hit the trails. So why not snag some new gear?

Our favorite part about shopping at Lululemon is how the store is broken up into fitness category. Looking for running leggings as the air gets cool? They’ve laid it out clearly. More of a yoga/pilates enthusiast? There’s a section for that, too.

Plus – there’s always a ton of in-store activity (including free fitness classes!), so every trip is like a fun surprise. Which is the best kind of trip, to be honest.

6. Lamb’s Ear Children’s Clothing & Shoes

Littles need fall clothing, too! And we can’t stop going crazy for clothes for the tiniest members of our life in Lamb’s Ear. The styles are cutting edge – so fashionable, in fact, that you’ll wonder if the kid is about to be better dressed than you. We swoon for small Vineyard Vines polos, and the added bonus of being able to throw the winter coat our child actually needs into the same shopping cart is shopping convenience you can’t beat.

Another great bonus? Lamb’s Ear carries everything from casual to formal children’s wear – so you can stock up for whatever events fall throws your way.

7. Main & Taylor Shoe Salon

The last thing you absolutely, definitely need this fall, are some good shoes. And there are tons of options – riding boots, booties, cute sneakers, loafers, ballet flats… how do you even pick?

By heading to Main & Taylor, for starters. The shoe and handbag salon has an incredible selection : all the sizes and widths and styles you can imagine. Indulge a little bit by ducking into the in-store Stuart Weitzman and Donald J. Pliner stores, before perusing the handbags and deciding which gorgeously structured purse will be your fall go-to. You’ll want everything in the store : we promise.
